With the development of the economy in Chongqing, the scale of the city and people’s living standards is improving continuously and the municipal waste amount increasing rapidly. In accordance with the spirits of two governmental documents, Chongqing Municipal Government awarded CIS as the project owner in charge of the construction of the second WTE plant in Chongqing.
So far, the feasibility study report and environmental influence evaluation report of Chongqing Phase II have been checked by experts. Pre-construction work proceeds orderly and construction will start by the end of this year.
The waste processing capacity of Chongqing Phase II is 1800 ton/d and 600,000 ton/year. This project utilizes Martin’s WTE technology with stoker model SITY 2000. Equipped with three waste processing line, 600 ton/day each, the plant will utilize the recovery heat from waste incineration to generate electricity. Except in-plant power use, 219,000,000 KW of electricity will be generated and sent to the national electric grid, supplying power for 100,000 families. The remains of the waste after incineration—the slag can be utilized to make bricks. Leachate and flue gas emission limits are much stricter than national limits. The developed, reliable technology makes the waste treatment a process of pollutants reduction, resource recycle and safe treatment.
